The Singapore Indoor Stadium is no stranger to A-listers and celebrities, but in the months of July and August, its halls will be resplendent with the glitz and glamour of two of the biggest names in Chinese music. Over 13 nights, the voices of none other than A-mei and Jacky Cheung will be reverberating off the walls of the Singapore Indoor Stadium to the lucky fans in attendance.

Both legendary performers are embarking on their respective tours and will be making an eagerly-anticipated return to Singapore in July. With performances over multiple nights, an overwhelming demand from their adoring fans, they have scheduled multiple concerts, ensuring an abundance of opportunities for attendees to witness their remarkable talent and satisfy the insatiable hunger for their electrifying performances.

A-Mei, also known as Chang Hui-mei, is a highly acclaimed Taiwanese singer and cultural icon. She began her singing career in the mid-1990s with her extraordinary vocal talent, and has since captivated audiences with her powerful and versatile voice. She is known for her ability to blend pop, rock, R&B, and aboriginal influences, pushing the boundaries of mainstream Mando pop and introducing new sounds to the industry. Throughout her career, she has received numerous awards including the Golden Melody Awards, Mnet Asian Music Awards and MTV Asia Awards. Her chart-topping success and longevity in the industry has earned her the titled of the ‘Queen of Mando Pop’ as she continues to be revered by both industry insiders and music lovers.

It has been 6 years since the queen set foot in our land, but she returns in July for her solo concert AsMeiR 2023 World Tour. The Taiwanese songstress started July on a high note with  a two-night concert on 7 and 8 July and tickets were sold out. After her league in Singapore she is slated to tour in London, Paris, Melbourne and Sydney.

Shortly after the queen departs, a ‘heavenly king’ descends. Jacky Cheung, or Zhang Xue You, often referred to as the ‘God of Songs’, is a legendary Hong Kong singer and actor and popularly recognised as one of the four heavenly kings. As with A-mei, Jacky has blazed the trail for many younger singers with his exceptional vocal range and ability to connect with audiences. His chart-topping albums and sold-out concerts have solidified his status as a ‘king’ and one of the most influential and beloved artistes in the Mando scene.

The Mando maestro first took Singapore by storm by announcing shows on six nights, but that was apparently not enough for the hungry population here. Promotor Unusual Entertainment released another 24,000 tickets on May 3 for three more nights but they were snapped out in under three hours. Ticketless fans were thrilled when they were granted a third chance to grab tickets for another two nights, making it a total of eleven nights for Singapore to be with Jacky Cheung. Knowing that they can’t miss this heavenly experience with the legendary idol, tickets were also swept clean within an hour.

Congratulations to those fortunate enough to have secured tickets to the concert! Be blown away by the audio and visual experience that is enhanced by the state-of-art acoustics of the Singapore Indoor Stadium. The stage presence of the legendary king and queen of Mando pop will be nothing less than mesmerising from the start to the end and if you’ll be kept at the edge of your seat, if you’re sitting down at all! Get ready to have the night of your lives, and busk in the regal atmosphere as you pulsate at every beat and sensation that will send your heart throbbing even after the show ends!
