A New Chapter for the Sports Hub
December 2022 marked a fresh beginning and a new chapter for the Singapore Sports Hub. In a strategic move geared towards unlocking the full potential of the hub, its ownership and management was placed under Kallang Alive Sport Management (KASM), a wholly owned subsidiary of Kallang Alive Holding Co Pte Ltd, incorporated by Sport Singapore.

The team’s core vision is to establish the Singapore Sports Hub as the leading sports, entertainment, and lifestyle destination in Asia. Armed with the approach centered around curating a line-up of engaging experiences catered towards both Singaporeans and the regional market, visitors can look forward to bigger and better world-class events!

FIBA Intercontinental Cup 2023

A Thrilling 2023
This year, the Singapore Sports Hub saw a 30% growth in sports, entertainment and lifestyle event days as compared to 2019 (pre-COVID). We hosted major international sports tournaments watched by millions of fans worldwide, including events such as the HSBC Singapore Rugby Sevens and the Singapore Festival of Football. Fans were able to catch a glimpse of their favourite athletes such as Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and AFC World Cup Qualifiers as they graced the National Stadium’s hallowed turf.

The FIBA Intercontinental Cup Singapore also made its Asian debut here at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. This was followed closely by HYROX’s first fitness race in Southeast Asia inside the National Stadium.

The Singapore Sports Hub welcomed back the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon, with participants of the only World Athletics Gold Label race in Southeast Asia completing their race inside the National Stadium. Kicking December off was the 14th Women’s World Floorball Championships at the OCBC Arena and Singapore Indoor Stadium. This is only the second time that the biennial event has been held outside of Europe and in Singapore, with the first instance also taking place in Singapore in 2005.

Not only that, die-hard fans and concert-goers were left starstruck as they were treated to performances by International and Asian award-winning artistes like Blackpink, Backstreet Boys, Sam Smith, Eric Chou and Eason Chan.

To their fans’ delight, the Singapore Sports Hub also secured multiple-night concerts by some of the most in-demand artistses in the world, starting with Jacky Cheung’s record-breaking 11-night concert in the Singapore Indoor Stadium this year. This will be followed by 2024’s blockbuster line-up in the National Stadium with six nights respectively of Coldplay and Taylor Swift – the latter’s only stop in Asia outside of Japan.

The overwhelming fan response to these sold-out multiple-night concerts is a testament to the quality of the Singapore Sports Hub’s offerings and infrastructure, while also sending a clear message to the world that Singapore is one of Asia’s leading destinations for live entertainment and events.

To provide greater accessibility, the Singapore Sports Hub opened its venues and facilities to more schools and communities this year. The activities added buzz to the spaces and served to strengthen bonds. Over 140 National School Games and school sports events were held at various venues across the Sports Hub. No matter the age group, teachers, coaches, parents, and students turned out in full force to cheer on the student-athletes which created an electrifying atmosphere for everyone in attendance.

On the festive events front, the Singapore Sports Hub hosted its Hari Raya Celebration at the Stadium Roar, following its first Stadium Waterfront Carnival to usher in the Year of the Rabbit. It also presented Singapore’s very first Harmony Sports Fiesta in celebration of racial harmony by bringing people together through sport. To celebrate the nation’s 58th birthday, the Sports Hub hosted Majulah Fiesta which featured 12 days of exciting sports and games that culminated in the live parade screening and fireworks at the Sports Hub.
