Outdoor workout sessions will happen daily at Singapore Sports Hub — unless there’s bad weather — with safety measures firmly in place.

After months of doing yoga in our living room and zumba virtually, we can now workout together daily at the Singapore Sports Hub again.
The ever-popular Garmin Sports Sessions have resumed outdoors — with proper safe distancing measures and limited capacity rules — at Stadium Roar and OCBC Square. Running the gamut from peaceful yoga to heart-thumping cardio dance to energetic boot camp, these free sessions are a great way to break a sweat without breaking the bank. And you don’t have to worry about too many people exercising together, as registration is required for all activities and capacity is limited for your safety.
In addition to the resumed daily offerings, the Singapore Sports Hub has also lined up brand-new workouts to encourage the community to exercise safely again.
These sessions are suitable for both young and old across all fitness levels, so they are ideal as gentle exercises that promote physical and mental wellness. As the Singapore Sports Hub explores different ways to live, play and compete in the new normal, these are some of the new experiences we can join in.
Move to the groove with high-energy street dance and burn up to 500 calories in the SupaFresh Dance Movement on Thursdays and Saturdays. Or slow down with Keep Fit Taiji Wellness and pick up the programme’s 18 easy-to-learn movements on Saturdays.
For yoga with a difference, why not try doing sun salutations at sunrise or sunset? Stretch and unwind with like-minded yogis while breathing in the great outdoors and taking in amazing views of the city skyline bathed in the sun’s rays.
Every last Sunday of the month, you can join in the SuperTrail Sunday Speed Walk & Dash, which is great for family bonding as well as clocking your steps. Learn moves to enhance mind-body wellness along the picturesque Stadium Riverside Walk.
The latter is part of A Kallang Story: A Sports, Art and Heritage Trail. This 3km trail is a great way to get to know the Kallang area on a self-guided walk with clearly signposted markers, listing various sporting, arts, cultural and historical milestones.
For a stroll down memory lane into Singapore’s sporting past, join the Athletes’ Backyard Guided Walk. These specially curated tours by knowledgeable guides will be held in the month of October, excluding Oct 30 and 31, and are free of charge.
Starting from the Visitor Centre, the leisurely walking tour takes in the Stadium Riverside Walk, Stadium Roar and National Stadium, before ending at Arena Park.
Along the way, you will learn about sports in the pre-colonial days, the origin of Kallang and how it transformed from a kampung to an aerodrome to a sports hub, significant political milestones in the area and various sporting achievements of Singapore in fields such as table-tennis and basketball.
These educational and enlightening tours are a great way to get to know more about our nation’s sporting history, as well as discover hidden gems in the area that has become our sporting playground.
Athletes’ Backyard Guided Walk will take place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, with each 90-minute walking tour starting at either 10.30am or 2pm. They will be held in small groups of 10 with safety protocols in place, including temperature measurements. To join the tours, mask-wearing is mandatory. Reservations are essential and you can e-mail bookatour@sportshub.com.sg to book your slot. Participants should be at the meeting point 15 minutes before the tour starts.
